The humorous, radius, ulna, carpals, metacarpals, and phalanges are structurally very similar. For instance, on first glance the human and the bat skeleton look like they have nothing in common, but after further observation of each bone structure, similarities become more obvious. While the fish, frog, alligator, bat, mouse, platypus, and human contained a lot of the same bones in their skeletal structures, the importance and function of each individual bone served each animal a different function. It is clear that bone function has evolved from population to population over time based on the bone samples that we observed in class. All of the organisms have vertebrae, and some skeletal structures had more bone similarity to others however, even when the organisms had common bones, they still looked very different. The skeletons we studied were the human, dog, cat, bat, pigeon, turtle, and the salamander. We compared the organisms by observing at their habitats, their mode of transportation, their classification, and their skeletal structures.
